Implementing best practice VTE prophylaxis in private hospitals

Following the success of the NHMRC's Venous Thromboembolism (VTE) Prevention Program, the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care has agreed to fund the NHMRC to implement a similar program in the private hospital sector. The program aims to reduce the incidence of VTE in patients admitted to private hospitals through improved compliance with best practice VTE prophylaxis.

The NHMRC are seeking expressions of interest in this program from private hospitals with 50 or more acute care beds.

Information packs are being distributed and will be available on the NHMRC-NICS website
